The Mysterious Black Box that is the Apple TV: The 2nd Generation

AppleTV2ndGen.jpg

Three weeks ago Apple unveiled the new Apple TV. It is now housed in a mysterious black box, as opposed to the silver of the previous Apple TV. It's much smaller and without a hard disk spinning inside plus a more efficient processor, it runs much cooler.

A black mysterious box is most fitting for this product because there's still so much about it that we don't know yet.

A Day in a Life - WWPW 2010 (Video)

If you read my previous post, Photo Walking 2010… Officially you will know that I took part once again in this year's Worldwide Photo Walk (WWPW). It took place on Saturday, the 24th of July 2010, the same day that YouTube was soliciting videos shot on that very day for their Life in a Day project. With the material sourced from these video submissions, director Kevin Macdonald will edit select footage to create a documentary movie executive produced by famed director Ridley Scott to be shown at the Sundance film festival in January.

Interesting Observation on Syncing Photo Libraries to iOS Devices

Before getting an iPad, I belabored over the model size I should get. I knew that 16GB would be out of the question, as I have too much media. 32GB seemed right because I have been managing the same storage size on my iPhone quite well over the past year.

My plan was to sync my Aperture photo library to the iPad. After all, making the iPad a portfolio for my photography was part of the reason of getting one. With that said, the iPad has a larger screen than the iPhone 3GS. Will it need more space? iTunes may optimize the image files larger than what it does for the iPhone 3GS.

To Boldly Go Where No Blu-ray Has Gone Before

Like the Star Wars film series, there are certain things that long-time die-hard fans find themselves buying over again and again with each new step in media technology. Perhaps you have done it as well, perhaps on a smaller scale with let's say The Beatles buying them on vinyl, 8-track, cassettes, compact discs, and then digital... err... oh they never made it that far yet, perhaps The Beatles is not the perfect example. Let's just stick with Star Wars and Star Trek here, but you get the idea. Back in the day
